I’m Back!

After a very long and mostly unofficial hiatus, I am pleased to say that I’m back.

The last 6 months have been a tremendously busy time in my life – I was completing my doctoral dissertation – so I decided to prioritize that work and as a result, my work here was temporarily placed on the back burner. I am, however, pleased to be able to say that my dissertation document was submitted to the appropriate office earlier this week and now things have been set in motion for my oral defense (mid-April).

In the meantime as I await my viva voce, I plan to share with you some of the biggest lessons that I have learned during the process of completing a PhD (broadly) and a doctoral dissertation (specifically).

These lessons will touch upon such topics as:

  • Maintaining motivation
  • Planning & time management
  • Boosting productivity
  • Dealing with feedback & criticism
  • Clarifying your research interests
  • Clarifying your writing
  • Structuring & formatting your document (proposal, thesis, dissertation)
  • Developing a great ‘elevator pitch’

Not only this, but I will share with you some findings from my own doctoral research and discuss how they relate to current world events.

Please stay tuned for this and much more!

Until next time,
TT
